Siol / Demak jink

Rain Man just want to share this story of the Siol /Demak jink with bloggers in the universe.
RGS aka Bujang Sigat has been constantly haunted by the "Pu Tarun" residing at the "Wat Dunuk" near the drink hole after the par 3 at Demak. I guess he has forgotten to bring his beetlenut and tembakau to appease the angry "Pu Tarun" there as a result he has become a very unhappy golfer playing that course. But if that course is not his happy hunting ground RainMan is also having a difficult time appeasing the Matang/Santubong penunggu at the tee box. He has just swallowed my RM22.00 ball over the weekend and then went on to block my putting sampai i nampak bulan last Sunday. Lucky for me cos i wasn't alone. The great short game guru from the Sogoh Golf Academy in Bau did equally bad and he too was gazing at the moon. Our reserve player PP was doing extremely well dominating the first nine and then temporarily went to sleep only to wake up and strike at the par 3 and 5 holes to grad 5 skins while AP manage to get 1.

RGS, the next round will still be at S/D and i suggest you bring beetlenut juice and plenty of cash and extra balls just to be safe. Happy golfing to the JABRICK gang.

Golf prodigy in the making

The World Bidayuh Golf Championship has always lived to its label as the one and only major for the Bidayuh golfers in this whole universe. Along with that tag the championship has also created some first and some "duplicates" albeit the result. We have had a fair share of surprises over the years (over the last 7 series i mean) and this has made this event quite colourful in certain aspects. Ofcourse there were the usual "IF", "Kamboi", muscle spasm and what not that could have ultimately decided the result but that's golf. Before i go to the more serious discussion i would like to share the JABRICK pantun with all the readers of this blog. Here goes "Jinak-jinak burung merpati, kalau di pegang terbang lari. Ingat-ingat boleh dapat birdie, silap-silap double boggie". This is a modified version but i have not intended to offend anyone so thousand apologies.

The 7th series of the WBGC has attracted quite a bit of comments and there seems to be an ongoing discussion as to how the many seasoned golfers could not conquer the Unimas course when a 24 handicapper young boy was able to record birdies on the index4 and index 2 holes 2 and 4 respectively, returning a front nine score of 39 gross, back nine 48 and win handsomely with a net score of 9 under-par.

Here's the scorecard for the interested viewer:

Fantastic scores and maybe the 8th WBGC series can uncover new prodigies which is good for the Bidayuh.
