The past week has been anything but a miserable blues week at the golf course - Sarawak Club Golf resort and KGS. The putter that has been my most trusted weapon has suddenly gone crazy and totally wrecked my game. This naturally brought good fortune for my nemesis, the one and only RGS. I have had some fair result when it matters but this time around nothing works and there goes my good fortune. But i just want to remind my nemesis that its not always gloomy and come Saturday (9/7), things will definitely change. I have decided to get back to my beetlenut juice and possibly my blade putter to help change my fortune. This weekend will also see the battle of the JABRICK and JASAP being revived and hopefully the JASAP will make the JABRICK "berasap". I hope JABRICK get to read this post and get prepared for the JASAP onslaught.
Cheers and happy golfing.

Siol / Demak jink
Rain Man just want to share this story of the Siol /Demak jink with bloggers in the universe.
RGS aka Bujang Sigat has been constantly haunted by the "Pu Tarun" residing at the "Wat Dunuk" near the drink hole after the par 3 at Demak. I guess he has forgotten to bring his beetlenut and tembakau to appease the angry "Pu Tarun" there as a result he has become a very unhappy golfer playing that course. But if that course is not his happy hunting ground RainMan is also having a difficult time appeasing the Matang/Santubong penunggu at the tee box. He has just swallowed my RM22.00 ball over the weekend and then went on to block my putting sampai i nampak bulan last Sunday. Lucky for me cos i wasn't alone. The great short game guru from the Sogoh Golf Academy in Bau did equally bad and he too was gazing at the moon. Our reserve player PP was doing extremely well dominating the first nine and then temporarily went to sleep only to wake up and strike at the par 3 and 5 holes to grad 5 skins while AP manage to get 1.
RGS, the next round will still be at S/D and i suggest you bring beetlenut juice and plenty of cash and extra balls just to be safe. Happy golfing to the JABRICK gang.

Golf prodigy in the making
The World Bidayuh Golf Championship has always lived to its label as the one and only major for the Bidayuh golfers in this whole universe. Along with that tag the championship has also created some first and some "duplicates" albeit the result. We have had a fair share of surprises over the years (over the last 7 series i mean) and this has made this event quite colourful in certain aspects. Ofcourse there were the usual "IF", "Kamboi", muscle spasm and what not that could have ultimately decided the result but that's golf. Before i go to the more serious discussion i would like to share the JABRICK pantun with all the readers of this blog. Here goes "Jinak-jinak burung merpati, kalau di pegang terbang lari. Ingat-ingat boleh dapat birdie, silap-silap double boggie". This is a modified version but i have not intended to offend anyone so thousand apologies.
The 7th series of the WBGC has attracted quite a bit of comments and there seems to be an ongoing discussion as to how the many seasoned golfers could not conquer the Unimas course when a 24 handicapper young boy was able to record birdies on the index4 and index 2 holes 2 and 4 respectively, returning a front nine score of 39 gross, back nine 48 and win handsomely with a net score of 9 under-par.
Here's the scorecard for the interested viewer:
Hole Par Index Player Marker
1 4 12 5 5
2 4 4 5 amended 3 5
3 3 16 3 4
4 5 2 4 6

6 4 18 5 4
7 4 14 5 6
8 5 6 5 6
9 4 8 6 4

Fantastic scores and maybe the 8th WBGC series can uncover new prodigies which is good for the Bidayuh.

The X22 did just enough damage for a start.
It wasn't exactly expected, but the X22 did just enough to stand tall amongst those X24, S-Yards and the ever green Ping. I thought it was a good buy and it didn't disappoint either. My nemesis Mr RGS, for the record the Miri whitewash was somewhat avanged not taking the buggy contest into consideration. But you are still a tough guy to barbeque and certainly not a pushover on any day. The old man is getting tired of being slaughtered but once in a while a victory is a very welcomed result. Mr JB was possessed on the day and what can i say. it was always difficult catching up with 5 down and six holes to play. But hopefully things will change soon and maybe right up to the Inter-community tournament so that i can have something to remember about my X22 in years to come. My TM200 series would probably have to go so that it won't feel so nostalgic seeing them in the bag. AP is still fighting to be where he rightfully belongs at HCP11. But he will make it soon and when that time come your JabRick dance can kiss goodbye and your will need to find a new gimmic. JB better be warned cos my partner is getting really annoyed of the financial damages from the buggy contest. So come Saturday JabRick better be ready.

North Borneo Tour calamities
The north borneo golf tour went as scheduled, thanks to AP who was responsible for the club arrangements and RGS specially for the Fortuna ride. A very smooth ride indeed. But it was a different story on the course and although i did manage to tame the little suckling creature at Sibu golf club, that creature turned into a wild Pangga in Miri and with its taring bared on the par 3 ninth hole and par 4 fifteenth i guess, the barbeque was abandoned and instead i got burned . But there was still hope for the return leg in Bintulu and Sibu. However as fate would have had it another sunami strike and this time aroung it was a total washout by default and there was no Bintulu or Sibu leg played.
I heard today that the unfortunate news have been conveyed to the heavenly god for consideration to the Bidayuh Community team with a more discreete comment that JS form have hit rock bottom and just like Tiger woods, he only manage to crawl into the 30 something using a wild card as the Captain's pick. That was embarrasing as this is the most prestigious of all tournament in the whole damned world where you have to defend your entire tribe and community from extinction not just at the course but in the whole wide world. Maybe i should look for a new game something along the line of addiction as advocated by woods. But wild card or not, Captain's pick or otherwise, i remain grateful that there will be another day and another battle to win. RGS you may want to know that i may not bee 100 % ready by this Sunday but when i need to, you can be assured of a decent fight and most rewarding in terns of compensation for school fees.
See yayayayayayaya.

Moonshine JB
It seems like a very long time ago and strange but that's golf and you can never tell why even the world no.1 can still miss the cut albeit with all sort of excuses. But it was no coincidence and there certainly wasn't any excuse available for JB when the Saturday round [15/5] was over. It was moonshining over JB and thank goodness i was spared the normal clinic visit as the sun was smiling over me and my other 2 buddies. If there was any consolation at all, JB played a fantastic 39 on the front nine and a 42 on the back nine but still end up paying even the additional bill as the feast was so huge that even the collection was insufficient to cover the damage. The winners did not collect a cent and worst still i was so convinced that the number 4430 would bring some luck but it was just the reverse and boy did i not regret not getting 0344 instead cos that turned out to be the lucky number. As usual it was not meant to be for me except for the satisfaction for doing rather well on the fairways and putting green to avoid the indignity of having to visit the ever friendly skin specialist. KL of course had the last laugh but it was really a bad day for JB playing 39 and 41 and still skinless. What to do bro.its just another bad day and another tiger missing the cut can be a great motivator for the coming WBGC. RGS don't say that you have not been warned. The old man may be swinging his rusty old TM200 series but it can also burn the fairways and roll the putting green flat heh heh heh heh. I hope this is timely news for WBGC.

golf extravaganza when it was least expected
We just can never tell when our next best round of golf will be but golf is a game that is full of surprises and your good round can just well be your first game after a long absence. Who would have thought that an old rusty iron set with a not so advanced high-tech driver and a shaky 56 year grandfather can outdrive and out-play a couple of thirty something youths playing in their prime age. But that's exactly what happened last sunday when this shaky 56 year old grandpa recorded a back nine score on Demak nine of 6 pars one double bogey and a not so attractive double par to clinch 4 skins and some additional bonus payment to put the icing on the cake. My nemesis Mr RGS was up to his nose trying to keep pace and fortunately he was able to do just enough to ensure that our eligible bachelor (who else if not Mr JB) bail him out with the bonus and RGS was merely playing the role as a channel for the transaction. As usual the old man started very slowly and RGS was firing right from the first hole but he was kind enough to allow the veteran to call the shot for LD which was never called because it was conditional upon RGS getting tired and probably by the tenth hole to start the LD but he was strong alright and there was little point to have the LD duel by then. My buggy mate did justice on the front nine and i probably took over at the back nine to roast our nemesis JBRICK 3 and 2 [5-0 to the finishing hole]. I bet JBRICK can't wait for the return grudge match and i can't blame him but his opportunity will come soon enough [Sat. May 1 to be exact]. I just hope my trusted putter stays with me for the whole 18 holes and also my drive stays on the fairway. Till then JBRICK.
